Accessibility Policy
I am dedicated to providing an accessible and inclusive experience for all users, regardless of ability or assistive needs. My goal is to ensure that this website is usable by everyone, including individuals with disabilities, and to create an environment where users can interact with content easily.
As someone who is hard of hearing and has vision difficulties, I understand the importance of accessible design. Although I do not use hearing aids, I wear glasses that assist me with my vision. I personally benefit from larger fonts, but I recognize that what works for me may not work for others. Accessibility is not a “one size fits all” solution, and that is why I am continuously working to improve.
I encourage open discussions on how I can make further improvements. If you have feedback or ideas on enhancing accessibility, feel free to reach out to me. I am open to discussions via Zoom, in-person in Toronto, or at various events. However, I prefer email communication, as it allows me to forward suggestions to my team for implementation. Your input is invaluable in helping me create a more accessible platform, as I do not know everything, and I rely on your support to grow.
Commitment to Exceeding Accessibility Guidelines
I aim to go beyond the standard international accessibility guidelines (such as WCAG) to provide a better and more accessible experience for all users. The website is designed and developed with a focus on making content as accessible as possible to a wide range of people.
To help in this effort, I use a plugin called One Click Accessibility. While this plugin is not a complete solution, it plays a part in the bigger picture of accessibility on my website. There is an accessibility icon in the top left corner that allows users to adjust text size, contrast settings (including high and negative contrast), underline links, and switch to a more readable font. These tools are there to help, but I recognize that they may not meet all needs.
Accessible Media
All videos published on my YouTube channels are captioned in Croatian, English, and Spanish, with the Spanish subtitles reflecting the dialect spoken in Perú. These are the languages I am fluent in, and I avoid relying on automated translation services like Google Translate to ensure accuracy and cultural context. While not all video platforms support this level of accessibility, I have chosen YouTube as my primary platform due to its superior captioning options.
Ongoing Testing and Improvement
I continuously test and review my website to ensure it remains accessible and user-friendly. My commitment is to continually improve the experience for all users.
While I strive for full accessibility, some third-party content, tools, or embedded players might not fully conform to accessibility standards. In such cases, I make every effort to provide alternatives wherever possible to maintain an inclusive experience.
